Installing a New Roll of Stretch Wrap

Instructions and guidelines to install a new roll of stretch wrap.

Stretch-Wrap Specs:
• 20” wide roll.
• 120 gauge (Note: have tested as low as 63gauge and as heavy as 120 gauge)
• 9” outside diameter
• 5,000 feet per roll
• Approximate weight: 36 LBS.

Installation of Stretch Wrap Roll:

Step 1: Locate dispensing unit so that it is at 3 o’clock on the ring and in line with the door on
the side guard panel.

Step 2: Using the handle on the door, unlock the latch, and pull the door open. The limit switch
on the door will now prevent the machine from running until the door is properly closed
again.

Step 3: Reach in and lock rollers out of the way by using the dispensing unit roller clip (shown
to the right). The cardboard core will no longer be in contact with the top roller.

Step 4: Push the cardboard core against the spring-loaded plastic roller until the cardboard
core is free and can be removed.

Step 5: Install a new roll of stretch-wrap by pushing it against the spring-loaded plastic roller
until it is able to pop in place and the cardboard core rides on both plastic rollers.
Make sure the roll is oriented so that the stretch-wrap comes off the bottom of the roll.

Step 6: Disengage the dispensing unit roller clip.

Step 7: Feed stretch-wrap through to rollers as shown in Figure 2 below.

Step 8: Pull stretch-wrap until approximately 2 feet of wrap is exposed (this will be the wrap
that will eventually be tied to the pallet).

Step 9: Close, and re-latch the side door. Give the machine a test spin. If all appears
appropriate, the machine is ready for operation
